Week2 Run2

Having had a sore calf on Monday after/during Run 1. I was a bit apprehensive tonight and thought maybe i should have another days rest. However I also worry that if i get off the bike I will not get back on. So I continued with my run tonight - I decided to slow the pace down and I have to say it felt good, longer the elephant feet pounding the ground, just a smooth but allbeit slow jog/run. The 1 1/2 minute run was comfortable and my onlky concerns on tonights run was that the 2 min walk seems too long and there were a heck of a lot of dog walkers tonight so the head was on a swivel the whole way round. As I am typing this I am already looking forward to run number 3 on Friday. I feel I want to do more runs but do nolt want to deviate from the plan,, I may soon be asking for run buddies

That sounds like a great session bertiesugar, you are right to take the run intervals nice and slow and steady.

I expect you were a bit cold on the walk breaks, but you are right to stick with the program. Have you thought about a running buff ( seamless, breathable fabric neck warmer that you can pull up over your nose while walking to keep the cold air out. It keeps your neck warm too!)

Good luck with Wk1 R3 😊x

Keep it slow and steady...try to land lightly too. I call it kissing the ground with your feet:)

Do some extra exercise on rest days if you have loads of energy :)

If you can, massage your calves each night before bed. Really helps. A roller makes this easier.
