Newbie to this running lark

Will be a fair few weeks before I sign up to a 5k park run

And not quite brave enough to run in a group

So if you are ever running round the Memorial Park in Coventry just give me a nod

We may run on our own - but we never run alone :) We will be cheering you on Bertie :)

( I knew a Bertie quite a while back, only kid I ever knew by that name :) - your Mum is not Kate by any incredible chance? )

John - No mums not Kate but I am not a Bertie. I am a Bret. Bretiesugar doesnt sound as good as Bertiesugar. B for Bertie S for Sugar, my initials

Hi bertiesugar are you still doing the Coventry war memorial parkrun? I'm on week 4 and just wondering at what point to go for it and do one.... Would it be something you might recommend for the week 5 run 3 ie the 20 minute run then walk the rest? Or does everyone run the whole thing?

Hi Wheezer - Yes, I did my 6th Park Run on Saturday and I am loving them. My plan was to always do the park run after I had finished thr programme, as I then felt confident in running the 5km. However the park run can be done at your own speed whether it be walking or running. And there have been a lot of peoplke on here that have done it at an earlier stage, it all depends on how you want to do it, run, run walk, walk. Sorry I am being wooly but if you want to do it then go for it either really slow it down and run the 5k or run the 20mins and walk. If you need support then let me know
