First run of week 4 and whilst I was already feeling tired I managed to get through it. Didn't feel great but glad I finished.
One issue that is becoming a problem is a pain in my ankle joint which is still with me this morning when I walk.
Might need to invest in some new training shoes or maybe I'm just too old

Have you had your gait analysed and been fitted for proper shoes. If not you really should. now the runs are getting longer, ordinary trainers could lead to problems. 😊.
When you run you subject your legs to the equivalent of up to seven times your bodyweight when running downhill. That jarring subjects your bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments to huge strains. Proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis will give appropriate support for your running style and help protect you from injury.
