I can’t run 😢

Last week, I went out twice in icy conditions and was v cautious as didn’t want to slip, but in doing so must have changed my step. After 5 minutes I had to stop and walk, well limp home in pain. Been limping ever since - my physio mate thinks it’s Achilles’ tendonitis which means rest! Totally devastated.

When I start again, should I do walk and run to build up? I really don’t want another Achilles injury as snapped the right one playing rounders in 2002.

I am no expert either, but if you are lucky enough to have a physio as a friend, I would like take their advice not to run.

My only running injury was a "tweaked" Achilles tendon, which kept me from running for over a month, following the advice of my physio friend.

Blood flow to that area is limited and, so repair is slow. Heel drops are good for Achilles, but specific advice is worthwhile.

Please rest... any Achilles injury takes time to heal... the runs will still be there;)

Yep, true! I have got into the swing of getting up and out in all weathers and been mostly loving it, so to have it taken away is hard ☹️
