After my last post and first run, I haven't ran since. However as many of you lovely folk had advised, I have had a gait analysis done and purchased the Asics Kayano 24s which were exceptionally comfortable and a bit pricey but I tried on 6 different pairs and these one were most comfortable and accommodating to my over pronated style of running and flat left foot. They were £150 in the shop but found online for £104 so was worth it. They won't be arriving until Tuesday but that's fine. In the meantime I will restart week 1 tomorrow and take the pain until they arrive =) hope everyone is getting on ok themselves!

I have the same trainers, and they are a dream!
If i was you, i would wait until Tuesday, and start fresh with your new shoes, no point in risking injury for the sake of 1 run.
Good shoes, fitted after gait analysis are your best investment and while it hurts ( well, it hurt this tightwad, anyway) to part with so much money, I am sure you won't regret it.
Once you have run in these for a while and found they are to your liking, you will be able to look online in future and pick them up when discounted. I managed to pick up a pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17s this week for half price, to replace my aged GTS 15s.
I always keep my old shoes and alternate them for a while, with the old ones. This gives your feet a chance to adapt more gradually to a change in support. Might not be necessary in your case, but bear it in mind for the future.
absolutely! I thought they were expensive but knew if I bought them I'd have to get my act together so a win win purchase, psychologically and eventually physically =)
