app crashing?
Oh, so it's not just me then. I thought MJ had gone for a cuppa halfway through mine. When I checked the app, it had gone back to the intro . . . Very annoying. Have started checking my watch at the start so I know when he's supposed to tell me to run, halfway, or slow down
I know very little about the app, being old school and having used the podcasts, which are pretty foolproof.
It gets reported on this forum from time to time. No special magic, but just do what you'd do with other crashing apps... close down all running apps (for example, double-click the Home button on an iPhone (you're on your own if you have an iPhone X )) to open the carousel, then swipe up to close each app. Once everything is closed down, restart the C25K App and your music app.
Not sure how to do it on an Android phone, but in general it is good to get into the habit of doing this on any phone once per week.
This happens to be pretty much every run lately. I just restarted a refund which they granted. It's very annoying when you're waiting for the half way point indicator and it never comes. I too have started using my watch and taking a screen shot of schedule do I can stay on track. You would think this app is not much more than a timer and they shouldn't have this kind of problem.
Still happening regularly to me on an Android phone. Starts fine, drops out at some point, drives me nuts.
I always clear the memory first (the phone's, not mine) by closing all apps. Even reboot the phone first sometimes, but still makes no difference and it still crashes randomly.
Interesting that it happens across iPhone and Android as it suggests its a hybrid App (not one each native to its platform). Hybrids are much cheaper to develop (and in fairness it is free) but they're notorious.
Oh well, as soon as I reach my 5k I'll switch to something bigger/better/funded.
Just frustrating that people are still struggling with it after all this time.
I found a fix for this on my Android phone (Oneplus 7T Pro, OxygenOS 10)
Hold down on the App icon -> App info -> Advanced -> Battery Optimisation -> Don't Optimise.
Successfully completed several runs now with Strava and music running. This setting should prevent the OS closing the app because it thinks the App is using too much battery, so probably best to close the app after finishing the run, to maintain good battery life.
