Just Ridiculous π: Iβm a grown women of 56 and... - Couch to 5K
Just Ridiculous π
You are the same age as me and I'm planning to do my 3rd one tomorrow. Will think of you and cheer you on. Hope you enjoy it. I did normal warm at walk the first time then set off slow and steady. Don't forget it's not a race but it's great fun π
Ha, relax you will be fine Wantorun.π
Go, take it steady and enjoy yourself. You deserve to be there, walk bits if you need to...no-ones judging you.πxx
Did my first in July age 55. It was fun. Doing my 10th tomorrow. You will enjoy it as long as you go your own pace. Everyone is welcome even the slowest. Have fun tomorrow.
Slow and steady and you do it at your own pace... that is all... and enjoy
Me too! Iβm starting wk9 tomorrow and have always said my first post-grad run would be my local park run. Now itβs getting closer Iβm nervous π¬. Iβve been running solo for weeks and the thought of hundreds of runners is daunting. Iβm sure youβll be fine; probably the thought of the first parkrun is worse than the reality and youβll absolutely love it. Weβall be thinking of you; keep us posted. Go, girl!
Will do thank you πalways had this in mind too as l only ever run on my own and thought it would be a fitting end to the program before l start to consolidate. Going to repeat W9 for a few weeks and make plans. X
I went to Parkrun last week, I havenβt been for ages and felt really nervous on my way down and all conquering on my way home. Thatβs the thing with nerves it gives you the ability to feel awesome when you defeat them. Have fun tomorrow. π.
Iβm feeling the same, doing the London Santa Run on Sunday and Iβm feeling a little nervous. The organisers are expecting 4000 Santaβs ..... could be like a obstacle course π±
Youβll be OK Wantorun, as the others have said, itβs not a race so slow and steady, Us old βuns will show βem a thing or two π€₯π
Best of luck, enjoy π
Love your profile pic lm a springer mum too πΎπΎπΎπ
πΎπΎπ does your dog run with you?
ππ no he would be all over the place l live very rurally and surrounded by lots of wildlife ld have to keep stoping etc nose to the ground rudder going 100 mph thatβs him not me ππ does yours run with you?
My first tomorrow too and I am feeling nervous (43). Hope it goes well for you!
Oh bless you will be thinking about you too enjoy silly to be nervous ππ¬ itβs just another run l keep telling myself ππββοΈ
You are 8 years younger than me and I have just done my 12th run (which was also my second in Australia). Just go for it, slow and steady, and you will be fine. Trust me, the feeling when you finish will make it all worthwhile. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
I feel similar. I competed C25K last week and mm planning to so my first parkrun at the first available day in a couple of weeks time. I feel a bit nervous running around others. Especially as my run is barely faster than walking. I plan to do it listening to the week 9 audio.
mine too I'm 47 and also very nervous I think its to be expected as we never done it before x have fun and ill see you on the other side lol xx
You'll smash it! I think I'd take a Parkrun over 4 miles through mud today....mind if I have a pair of big girl knickers...? π
Let me know how it goes please Jenny, that extra mile especially. You can do π
Hi Ted, it took us 1hr 10 mins to do 6.5km but half of it was wading through freezing mud & water up to our waists at some points... The sense of achievement was massive & I've never run with other people before and that was great too. I want to try a running club & Park run next. Have a great time today & please post - I'm sure you are going to love it! βΊ
Morning Jenny, so it was a cross country run then? π
Well done for completing it, hope I donβt experience anything like that. Iβm on the London bound train now. Iβll post pics later π
Today? Iβm doing mine too and am really nervous too. I thought I was being silly as well so itβs nice to know there are more of us out there! Iβll yhink of you when Iβm debating whether to run or walk for the last 5 minute stretch. Good luck.
I hope your Park Run goes/went well. I am 58 and have done 2 so far. I hang around at the back to start with then you get to overtake people!π
So...how did you get on? π
Hi
I'm a 40yr old woman and I couldn't bring myself to run after my graduation run. I couldn't run for even one minute the following Saturday in routes which were positively easy compared to park run. However after chatting to my graduation team i realised i was not alone, many had felt overwhelmed at the prospect of running even 1k after completing the 5. However we went out Wednesday evening and ran 5.2k , together. For me it was a massive mental challenge as my brain was telling me I couldn't do it well into the 3rd kilometre, but I did it. I only did it because I had my run mentor reminding me that I could.
You can do this , you have done this, youve totally got this
believe in yourself
X
How did the run go? π
