Horrible stitch!

So I’ve just completed week 7 and I hated it! The last two runs felt so hard and I had really painful stitch from about 7 minutes into the running part- both days. I’ve not had stitch before in this entire course. I did continue running because I didn’t want to give up, but I feel disappointed that I didn’t enjoy it! Can the cold give you stitch?

They say that being dehydrated gives you the stitch......

The best way to cure a stitch is to slow down and breathe deeply.

Good hydration can help. Hydrate today for tomorrow's run.

Avoid drinking while you run.

You will enjoy runs far more if you slow down. At this stage trying to be fast is only increasing your injury risk and doing very little extra to developing your long term running body.

Well done on pushing through a hard run.

I’ve had a lot of stitch but it’s never put me off. Digesting your meal before heading out to run, not being too hungry, running too fast, and hills seem to be the things that set me off When you run hills you twist your middle to and fro. I stop. Slow lower and touch my toes, hold it there and then come slowly back up. Then lean over and do a side bend on the affected side, gently. Repeat on the other side. Then lift your arms up to the sky, feet planted, and stretch upwards

You might need to do it again if it doesn’t do the trick
