1 more to go...but first, a race!

I'm only 1 run away from graduating! But first, I'm doing my very first race Sat. a.m! It's a 2 mile event. And I just registered for my first 5K which will be in about a month! I'm so nervously excited! I know I can do the run. I'm more nervous about all the people! And then next week, I'll do my last CT5K run!!! I am thrilled will how far I've come. I never imagined I'd be doing what I'm doing right now! But I set a goal, took it one step at a time, and here I am! 45lbs lighter, much more fit, and feeling on top of the world! Thank you all for your encouragement! I hope I can be that encouragement to others just starting out! I'm not sure what my next goal will be after the 5K. Maybe just to do 4 per year or something. But I WILL keep running!

How exciting! And good luck for your first race. 🏃‍♀️I have spent the last three weeks since graduating running 30 minutes 3 x week to try and get really comfortable with that length run, and have been really enjoying it. A 5k race in a month is a great, achievable goal.

Well done on your amazing weight loss too. You are a whole new you!

👏👏👏

Woohoo! Go you! Racing is such Fun! Who knew 😃👍

Just take care though, it’s early days in your running life and your legs have to build, which takes time - quite a long time in fact.

Do some cross training and get your body and legs ready 💪🏃‍♀️👍😃✔️

Good luck on your first race! I'm sure it'll go great. Congrats on the weight loss as well! That's amazing! And next week you'll be a C25k grad! What a great trifecta 👏👏👏

Well done. You will probably find that you get caught up in the rush at the start and go off far faster than you would normally. There is usually plenty of time before the start to find a nice place. It can be good fun, not to mention a real learning curve to try and place yourself near those who you think would be about the same pace as you.
