Hello there, I'm new to this group so hi everyone! On W3R3 but its taken me 5 weeks to get here. Last run was really difficult so will go back and repeat next time but I am enjoying it. Haven't done any thing like this before.
W3R3: Hello there, I'm new to this group so hi... - Couch to 5K
W3R3
Welcome! You don't need to repeat runs as long as you have done them as the programme has been designed to take you through, step by step. I found every run challenging/difficult and doubted that I was ready for the next one; but I was.
Some people like to repeat and obviously it's your running journey but I bet if you move on to week 4, you will be ok.
Hmm, I hadn’t really thought about that... I’ll give it a go tomorrow. Thanks
Welcome JeannieK , you are very welcome here, and in good company. We are all on the journey you are taking, at various stages.
Really well done for sticking with it so far, if you keep with the program, you should find you get fitter and your body gets used the new regime, and things become more manageable.
One thing I would say, and please do bear in mind I'm no expert here, I know if I'm really struggling with a run it inevitably menas I'm going too fast. It matters not one bit if there are snails overtaking you, so long as you are running/jogging. The speed will come after you graduate, so please don't worry.
The other thing that really helped me, once I'd realised that, was that the people on here are really great and encouraging, and if you're going through it, someone on here will understand.
I really hope the next run goes better for you. If you feel it would help your confidnce to repeat your last run, go for it, but take it really slowly. You can always speed up towards the end if your body is feeling up to it.
All the best, Neil
Hi and thanks for the words of encouragement!
Any time, there's enough discouragement in the world if you ask me. Just take it slow and steady. If you start to tire, slow down, it's fine. Better to complete a run slowly, than to not complete a run. Though any non-completed run is really just a practice for the next one, so honestly, it's all good.No such thing as a failed run here!!
