It's a great programme but it's easily done alone. Probably logistically easier to go solo as you have to listen to what's being said,so you don't need any distractions

If you don't find a training pal you could always join a local run group post graduation

Good luck! Go very slowly! No need for speed 👍🙂

Where is your area?

Hi Big Al & welcome to C25K. We're a very active, supportive community here, and you'll get loads of encouragement through your running journey.

But for reasons of personal security, you'll not get any takers here for a training partner. Perhaps when we know you better, you might meet up with some of the forum members at an organised run. But we strongly recommend that no-one arranges to meet privately through this forum. You won't know if the friendly person arranging to meet you outside your local park is actually an axe murderer, and we don't know if Big Al is 'overweight Alison', Aleksy Vladomir (serial killer) or just friendly Alan from our local town.

I have no doubt that there will be a running club in your vicinity with a beginners' group: you can join that.

Running by yourself means no compromise of pace, nobody to let you down by not turning up, you develop your own motivation, not hanging off somebody else's and most importantly, this is your journey and doing it on your own is empowering.

Running clubs and leisure centres run groups.

Join a running club that way you get help with running, meet new people and you will be safe.
