Knee Bruising

I have been running with my partner (only on week 2) and he has noticed his knees hurt and he actually has some bruising above his right knee.. could this have been caused by running? I ran myself today as he's decided to not try again until this bruising goes away. I've never heard of running causing bruising before? Any ideas?

Nope, never heard of it. Is he wearing weird trousers or something? Otherwise I would ask a doctor!

That is odd, no other explanation? This isn't his clever way of ducking out is it? Always best to get odd stuff like this checked out 😎

It does sound odd! I did google it and apparently running "can" cause trauma that causes bruising but I thought I'd ask on here cause it just seemed weird to me - and I'm a nurse!

He is not running very far at the moment either. I would tell him to see his GP.

Unexplained (and simply doing Week 2 of C25K is not an explanation) bruising always needs checking out.
