So today I've completed w4r2, as always it's a challenge but I did it without stopping and now I'm feeling fab.
I'm likening it to child birth, in that whilst I'm running I think "I'm never going to do this it's so hard" and then once I've completed it I think "that wasn't too bad, I'd do that again" π
Anyway please excuse another picture of me red faced but there is a reason for this.
My inspiration for keeping going when
it gets tough is this is lady my friend & next door neighbour Jane (white tshirt)
Jane is 6 years older than me & turned fabulous 50 this year.
6 yrs ago she decided to take up running with her son Lewis as he decided he wanted to run the London marathon when he turned 18. Both were complete novices. Since then they have both achieved the most incredible things you can imagine. I remember her completing her first 5k park run she was absolutely ecstatic !
Jane now competes regularly in triathlons, has completed 2 London marathons & countless half marathons all over Europe. And has also completed 2 full IRON MAN challenges. For those that are unfamiliar an IronMan consists of 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride & full
26 mile marathon.
As for Lewis I'm in AWE, what started out as a personal goal as taken him into the world of competitive triathlon, duathon & IRON MAN. He now represents GB and has won so many titles & trophies in recent years. Is most recent achievements being the winner of IRON MAN UK(18-24 age category) in 2016 & 2017. This secured him a place to compete in the IRONMAN World championships !!! It takes place in Kona, Hawaii & is this Saturday. Lewis has been there a wk already climate training. Jane is flying out tomorrow to support him. I'm so excited for them as a family and what they've achieved. It's incredible....
Jane is bursting with excitement and has a million things to do today & yet she still happily ran with me setting me a goals to keep me focused, the next bench, the next tree, "keep going tracey you are doing fab, you can do this".
If she can do it do can I.....
sorry for the war & peace but I just wanted to share this with you all.
If you want a good read look up :Lewis Eccleston triathlete/ironman.
His motto is BthebestyoucanB,
I keep that in my head each time I run now.
Happy running peeps xx
