Please feel free to share your runs here and chat about how it's all going,

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy week,

Juju and Realfoodieclub

:)

Does anyone have a good 5k to 10k plan over 6 or 9 weeks? working to something at the moment - but want to compare to see if I can find a programme that works better for me.

My running week will be very varied:

Monday - rest day

Tuesday - evening Run 1 Week 2 with my daughter

Wednesday - evening 31 minute post-grad run with my son (I have decided to add 1 minute per run and see where I get to)

Thursday - evening Run 2 Week 2 with my daughter

Friday - rest day

Saturday - morning Run 3 Week 2 with my daughter

Sunday - morning 32 minute post-grad run, solo or possibly with son on bicycle for company

Phew. Not sure I can keep this up every week!

Afternoon all, I completed my W9R3 this morning and have just booked a place on a 5k Santa Dash for charity in December, it'll be something to keep me motivated and up & out 3 times a week as I'm not quite at the full 5k yet, but can do the 30 mins and determined to build on it. I've not really been posting much, more of an enthusiastic lurker, but really enjoying everyone else posts and finding you all inspirational and source of useful information. Cheers all and have a top week :)

Well done on your graduation. Enjoy your celebrating. Why not try a Parkrun on a Saturday morning if there is one near you? I havent graduated yet but have done a few, running and walking, and I find it really helps me. Each week I run a little more and walk a little less! Have a go you will love it xx

Funny you should say that, I've just registered for Parkrun, not sure I feel confident enough yet but will definitely think about it over the next few days :)

Honestly you will be a lot faster and run for longer than some people doing it! Have a go! πŸ‘

I graduated yesterday. I registered for Parkrun last week, but tomorrow is the day I've chosen to give it a go. I won't be last because there will be a tail runner behind me, and even if I'm the last runner through, at least I'll be able to show some progress (hopefully) as I continue my weekly ploddings. Give it a go!

If you've graduated then you can sinthe 5k easily I'm sure. I'm just in the middle of wk6 but I know that run walk can do 5k. Who cares about the time? And coming last even doesn't matter. I haven't even been to a park run but I understand that it's a great encouraging culture. You'll be fine. 😊

Best of luck for this morning, kick some ass

Thank you! I didn't come last, and got asked if I wanted to join a running club! πŸ™ˆ Not sure the world of running is ready for that! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Sorry to bother.....My Graduate 10 badge has gone :(

I was very proud of it- have I been stripped of it for running too slowly?.......

Any ideas?

Done with my W2R2. I have really picked up the pace now, have to slow down to survive the coming weeks.

Dont look Ethel! I found it best not to peek, just made me nervous - just take each run as it comes. I bet you will be fine. Good Luck.

W2R3 done. Happy with the progress.

I work nights so run around 7-8 PM or so. I'm taking a long overdue vacation next week. Should I continue running at that time, now that for a week I will be sleeping like a normal person.

Ankle quite sore after W5R2 (shame, everything else about that run was fine). Am sure it is the achilles tendon again. Ankle felt warm for rest of day, but don't think there was any swelling. Also tried walking on tiptoes and moving ankles in circles so I know no problem with range of movement.

Took ibuprofen and have been doing some gentle heel/ ankle stretches and strapping it up overnight. Planning to take an extra rest day before I think about W5R3 and will see how it feels.

I suspect strongly this is more to do with me wearing flats on rest days than the actual running (although that prolly didn't help). Boo to ankles.

Hi everyone I'm going to do week 5 run 1 tomorrow and it's been going well so far but the last couple of runs I have had quite bad pins and needles in my feet - I'm wondering if it's because my trainers are ancient? (like over 10 years old) i.e. do I have an excuse to buy a shiny new pair of shoes??

Sounds like you need new trainers to me

Done with my W3R1.

Did not get the recommended 2 day rest between weekends as I wanted to start my W3 early as i’m going out on vacation late this week.

Not sure if thats the reason, but I felt very sore and was slower than usual.
