Good morning. I know exactly how you feel. I did my last week run 3 on Monday and due to start week 4 today. I'm trying not to worry about it but there is alittle part of me that wonders how the hell I'll get through 5 minutes.

Think I'm more calm now though because a week ago I was panicking about running 3 minutes. Wasn't easy but I did it. In fact every week since I've started has been completed, so I think deep down I actually believe in this programme now.

I can't really give any advice as I'm at the same stage as you but whatever we've been doing to get this far, we must continue doing it.

Good luck for Friday.x

Read my posts... I felt like you, but just done my 5 min runs this morning. You can do it, believe that you can, but slow and steady. This program preps you for the increases

Trust the science behind the programme, and believe in yourself. Try to start off slowly, your adrenaline will cause you to launch off a bit quickly, especially if you are nervous. What you are developing is your endurance. You need to approach the run at a speed you can maintain. And you can always slow down.

Lastly, try not to focus on the time. Keep giving yourself little goals: run to the postbox, Just to the end of the road. Keep doing this to break it down into managable chunks, the time will take care of itself.

Dump the worrying, it only adds to the stress, you have got this far, keep doing what you've been doing slow and steady will get you there, we promise!

Seriously yes you have to have better fitness to do each run, but the great thing is each run puts a bit more fitness and stamina in the bank, so every time you go out you are more prepared than the last time.

Start running the intervals in your head, by positive visualisation you will help your legs do the intervals...

Good luck for Friday's run.

Thank you everyone I'll take on board what you've all said & try not to dress ☺️

If you can run for 3 minutes then you can run for 5. Trust the programme. I'm on week 7 and running for 25 minutes now - I struggled with 3 minutes to start with. Go to it with a positive mind, you CAN do it. Go slow and steady - good luck!

You can do the 5 minutes! I just completed Week 4 Day 2... they're definitely a little harder, and you can feel the "stamina building"... but totally possible to complete!! :)

Start SLOWWWWW... then go slower!! ;)

I hear you with the second 3 minute run. Mine usually happens during an uphill stretch of my run and it’s a killer. My first week 4 run will be at the weekend. Good luck and let us know how you get on when you run on Friday. X
