Hi everyone. I started w6r1 yesterday, this morning I've work up and I've caught my son's... I want to say flu but it's not as bad as a flu, I just feel achy and have a headache and I can't stop sneezing. Any way what I'd like to know is if i feel like this tomorrow (when im dueto do my next run) what's the best thing to do. Sorry for the long question
Advice please: Hi everyone. I started w6r... - Couch to 5K
Advice please
Don't worry, if your feeling rough then don't run, if you're feeling OK just maybe a sniffles then you could run, it may do you good, but anything like sore throat and downwards involving chest then defo not, the neck rule is if mild symptoms above then it's OK, if below then no..you'll be OK with some time out, you won't lose anything..😊
Hello! I did the same run today (W6, R1). I had a terrible cold this weekend just gone, felt rotten. I was in 2 minds as to whether to run W5R3 which is the big 20 min run on Saturday. In the end I got up early, took some cold/flu relief and gave it a go. I have to say it helped, whether it slowed me down or not I don’t know but it def took my mind off it. I would say give it a go but if you feel bad while running don’t worry about shortening or even stopping until you feel better.
Just don’t worry - even a brisk walk with a little jog should keep you going.
Just see how you feel.. tomorrow.... your body will tell you. Hope a good night's sleep may help
I may be soft, but I never run if feeling under par. I like to enjoy my running and being ill impacts both performance and pleasure. It also takes longer to recover enough to cope with strenuous exercise than it does to manage with other daily stuff.
Give yourself a break.
