Need new Running Gear

Now I've made it to Week 5, and found that I actually love doing this, I need to treat myself to a really lightweight running jacket, preferably in a bright colour for the dark mornings ahead. As a UK size 18/20 I'm struggling to find anything. Can anyone recommend a website I can try that caters for larger women please? Thanks.

I bought A really lightweight karrimor jacket, but every time I wear I end up having to work on getting it off and ties round my waist whilst still running!! I just get too warm...coke when I start but that only lasts a few mins...sure will be totally different in a month or so though.

Not sure if this will work for you? Unzip to about half way-ish, take your arms out and tie round your waist. If the bottom of your jacket is loose you can put one arm down between you and your jacket, and the other in front and then up between jacket and you, then tie both arms at waist level.

I know! It's so annoying how they think that only fit people will want fitness gear! I'm probably UK 18-20 on my bottom half and can't find a thing in any shops that is any use. M&S maybe? I see online they have a jacket 18-20 but in black and not what I'd call inexpensive.

What about getting a hi-viz to wear over your jacket if you can’t find anything you want? Sx

Hmmm... running jacket? Personally, I find anything designed to keep water out also keeps sweat in - not nice. I go for long sleeved neon tops which normally have reflective bits somewhere on them, but if I'm lively to be out and about I also use the reflective strips designed for cyclists etc. - you know those snappy one that start out straight and you snap them round your arms or ankles or wherever? Get them from the pound shops!

Lots of the fashion shops do larger sizes of running gear nowadays, also the supermarkets - Sainsbury's, Tesco, Primark, H&M, Lidl and Aldi (although their sizes tend to come up a bit small, I find), and Decathlon also does good cheap stuff.

You've got to Week 5, excellent, well done! You deserve new kit :) Happy running!

Thanks for all of your help. Following your advice I'll give the jacket a miss for now and get a long sleeved flourescent top instead. Thanks for the suggestions and links x
