I keep reading about doing core and strengthening exercises on rest days. How do you find the time and energy! But I'd like to try, is there a program that's worth following? Anything specific to running I should be doing? Will it improve my running?
Thanks!
(P.s my car needs fixing and the garage is just over 5k from my house! Handy, looks like I'm running home then back again next morning!)

There's an NHS Strength & Flex programme (with Laura, too!)
I used the Nike Training Club app for a while -- it has a few programmes you can set up, the instructions are clear. But I missed the clear progression of couch to 5k. I am such a sucker for that.
However, I did *definitely* feel that strength training, when I was doing it, helped my running.
My physio recommends 4 knee strengthening exercises that l do on the days when not running, exercises tailored around my past running injuries. I also do planks in various positions that helped straighten up my posture and lower back. All of it works and helps me run better and without discomfort, whether l go for 30, 45 or 70 minutes. When do l find time? Time is around you, pick it up whenever you want l personally do them at work, after work at home, anywhere, anytime. Once you realise the benefits, physical as well as mental, that's your motivation!
