Hi all, I just somehow managed to complete the 20min run in week 5!

Does anyone know why they add one random 20min run when others are 2x 8mins, it's quite a jump!!

Thought it was impossible but it wasn't!!!!

Anyone else achieving what they thought was impossible??

Feeling really proud as a very unfit person!!

I've also lost 1.5 stone with Slimming world & stopped smoking!!!

A whole new me!

Whoah...you've done what was the hardest run for me so for that I congratulate you!! It's a killer is that one, but, Do you know what, it's all psychological...that's why they stuck it in there!!! Why else would they do that??!!!!!!! I've also lost 1.5 stone with slimming world & yes, I'm achieving what I thought was impossible...surprising isn't it??!! Happy running 🏃🏼‍♀️

WOW, well done you, I stopped smoking 5 years ago, I've just started running and am starting 8 this evening, I still struggle to believe I can run for more than 25 minutes, this programme and community is incredible. Keep posting as you progress and good luck. You should be so proud of yourself. XxX

Thank you Martin.

To mess with your head obvs...

Actually you have run close to the 20 mins if you think about it, it's just that you had intervals breaking it up. This is the big milestone run, so hope your grin is wide and happy....

A whole new you, what a lovely phrase

the jump from running for 16 mins with 4 minutes break in between is not really very much at all. I suspect ot may not be random at all, but a crafeully worked out progression.

Just to confuse you !:)

No.. seriously.. the C25K running is about more than just running.. stamina strength and discipline all feature.. structured variation in the weeks and the runs..:) Bringing you forward slowly and making sure that you are literally ready for anything.

You did well! Completed the runs and losing weigh and ditching the evil weed too..go you!

Well done 👍🏼😊

You have given me hope and encouragement that I'll be able to do this run on Wednesday. I'll admit I'm feeling slightly apprehensive about it but I'm starting to think that it's all psychological.

Think I'll be saying to myself " I can run for 20, I will run for 20" I hope to be able to report back that I've done it just as you have 😊

Good luck! You can do it!

Don't think too much about it.

I didn't realise until I pressed run what I was in for, I thought it was 5 or 8 min runs.

Let me know how you get on. 🏃🏻 😃

The other thing to do is imagine yourself finishing the run & say 'I have run for 20!' and anything else that goes along with completing that feat! Speaking into the future as though it is is piwerful stuff. Enjoy your run!

The graduate badge is getting closer with each run, well done, the psychological barrier is harder to break than the physical barrier and I think that is why W5R3 is the run it is.

Well done on smashing it.

I did W5R3 yesterday, I actually enjoyed it and am still grinning about it, looking forward to W6R3 as it's a 25 minute run, the way I look at it, if I can jog for 20 minutes that I can jog for 25, if I can jog for 25 minutes, then I can jog for 30.

Following a bout of food poisoning in May this year I've just changed my whole lifestyle, portion sizes are greatly reduced, limited take-a-ways, selected take-a-ways when we do have them (no chips, etc, kebabs but not Donner ones). I have lost over 2.5 stone, dropped 4 inches on the waist and most of this has happened in the last 6-7 weeks.

It really is a great feeling of achievement, isn't it?

Well done to you too!😃

Well done - I'm on wk 4 (2runs down 1 to go) and thought that would be awful and it wasn't and the feeling of achievement is fantastic isn't it.

I'm bizarrely looking forward to the challenge of week 5 now who'd a thunk it.

Enjoy that happy buzz x

Firstly, well done to you! The fact is , whatever the reason for the jump... could you have imagined 5 or so weeks ago you COULD run for this length of time? the programme works.... give you confidence moving forward... but beware, you'll still (probably) come across more difficult runs/times... forewarned is forearmed!
