Back Injury

Hi all,

I trapped a nerve in my ribs when I was running a few weeks back, and my physio says I am nearly ready to start running again. It will be about 6 weeks that I have been unable to do anything, apart from some gentle cross trainer sessions the this week.

I was half way through week six when it happened and am wondering how you decide where to start again. How do people decide where to start again in the process?

Thanks

Chalky

Hey chalky glad you're nearly back. Why don't you give a 5 minute run a try with the usual warm up and down walk. Or the Week 4 R1 schedule, you'd proceeded fairly well up until the injury hit, so Week 4 would give you a good benchmark I think.

I am not sure there's an exact recipe for returning, but if you have been doing elliptical work, then you won't have lost all your condition.

Only you know your bod, but starting with fewer minutes won't do any harm, you can always review after your first try.

I am no expert just a suggestion... hope it goes well for you. Nice to have you back here
