Do you normally get problems with your knees? Soft surfaces like grass will be your friend & is kinder on the joints, and the advice I've been given on here is to 'kiss the ground' when your landing, I think that was some wisdom from old floss? Enjoy your running journey!

Too many years spent carrying heavy rucksacks on my back in a previous career haven't done them any favors, mind you being over weight isn't much good for them either. Nothing some paracetamol can't fix :-)

I have bad knees but have found it OK running on the treadmill at the gym and I should graduate this week. Good luck.
