So we managed the longer walk today that we checked out during the World Athletics Marathon. A few odd turns that didn't match our map ( that's constant redevelopment in London for you). It was uphill too as we had to make our way up from Victoria Embankment along Temple Avenue and Bouvier St. We made good time so 4K at 30 mins but ran into hopeless temptation. The pretty Fox & Anchor pub in Charterhouse Street. So we stopped and had an ice cold Amstel's. We resumed and made our way home.
Total 5k in 54mins including pub stop.
Dilemma do we reroute or make the pub our stop? It probably won't be an issue in colder weather 😜 I already know the answer!

I will have to check or find an appropriate hot choc end point in late Autum/ winter👏
Fox and Anchor, stop for the beer by all means, but don't ever ever ever pre book your table and ask for the snug, and then follow it up with the lamb shank pie, that has in Desperate Dan style the bone sticking out of the pastry. Just saying, because it's a one way journey, you can never ever pass Smithfields again, and all your carefully planned walks and future C25K progress, will be ruined by the Bermuda Triangle of pubs... I had to move to Italy, to avoid the problem...
