Firstly huge well done..... my best tip is to take it steady, and if you can run outdoors that will give you added mental feel good endorphins , and most importantly enjoy it.... 😎

Hello and well done for starting! I'm 49 next week and started out in March and am now running over 5k at a time. If I can do it....I can't give any advice on the treadmill as I have an absolute fear of them (not logical I know) so can only reiterate ju-ju when she says to try the great outdoors as it is fantastic.

Just take each run slow and steady wherever you decide to run and keep us updated.

If you want to do this, you can do this.

The plan works by gently increasing the demands each week. You can't fail this plan, unless you go back to the couch. You are in control. You run/jog as slow as you need to and you progress at your own pace. If you can't complete any run.....even the first one...... you simply repeat it, after a rest day, strengthening your body as you go. When you complete it, move on.

You might need to try walking briskly for half an hour a few times before you start the C25k workouts. That is fine. We will support you and advise you and be there to cheer you over the finishing line.

You are not the first to have doubts, only to find that in a few weeks or months (you decide) that you really are a runner.

Ooh I can vouch for what ju-ju said ref the endorphin good feeling of being outdoors. I love the free feeling and it really does give me a happy feeling. But you do what you feel is right for you. Either way, well done, you're being active and that's a huge bonus 😊

Hey FrostyCat - what a hilarious name!!! Well done first of all. Hats off to you for taking this on because it really does work. I concur with IonnodaTrufe in what he says - you are in control. Take it steady and do what Juju suggests - take it OUTSIDE!! It's summer! The birds are singing and the trees look beautiful. You can breathe the air and run Like a gazelle. Keep us informed on your progress.

Good luck with slimming world too! Well done on losing a stone. What an achievement. It's so lovely running outside if you can. That's half the pleasure for me. It also gets the dog exercised at the same time. 😊🐶
