Quick question for the collective.

I'm giving blood late Tuesday and normally go out for a poddle Tuesday evenings.

Should I give it a miss?

You should definitely give it a miss, I have always been told to avoid exercise after donating.

Thanks, thought as much but this is the first time doing "serious" exercise (been giving blood for years)

Quite a few people have asked the same question in recent weeks.

Since the ability to deliver oxygen to working muscles will be impaired for a few weeks afterwards, you may notice a difference in performance levels, but it shouldn't necessarily prevent you from continuing to exercise; you may just have to run a slightly slower, while the body replaces the red blood cell lost through donation.

While you're donating, speak to the nurse for their opinion, but I'd expect that you should be able to run again within 24-48 hours.

Give it a miss, it won't hurt going without until your next due run. As for performance when you start back I doubt if you'll notice anything much at your stage in c25k, that really only matters to elite athletes who go all out!😊
