Not my first and not my fastest, and competing only against myself, but none the less I am ridiculously pleased.

Congratulations. Did they have glasses of prosecco at the finish line to make you run faster :)

Thank you. It was a virtual run - you sign up on line, do the run in your own time and then email a picture of the proof (garmin read-out in this case). Then they send you a medal! Proceeds go to good causes, this one was buying treats for cancer patients. I could have provided my own prosecco but forgot!

Prosecco run lead me to it please.... well done lovely medal

Thank you. Georgeous, isn't it. Got it from these guys: virtualracinguk.co.uk/. The prosecco run was a July event but it was very popular so they might run it again.

What a fab idea, I like that because in Italy well my bit of it, this kind of thing doesn't really exist. Thanks for sharing the idea

Yes, but you're in Italy! I think Oldfloss and a couple (probably loads) of others have done virtual runs. I like the idea because you;re only competing against yourself. Do it - the medal's fab quality, to my surprise.

And so you should!! Loving the bling😀😀xx

Thank you. As my husband pointed out when I said I hadn't done anything to earn it as I would've done the run anyway: it was all the hard work I put in up to that point.

in reply topollyp1

Exactly!😀😀 I shall raise a glass of pro secco tonight for you!🍾😀😀

Thank you. It was my first one but will definitely do more. I'm really impressed with the medal, I thought it would be less solid and it's very sparkly. And, no, I didn't: it didn't occur to me! (but we have quite a lot of the stuff anyway!)

I'm with JacCanRun, well actually I'm not, I'm a very long way away..in Canada but I am also very excited by the idea of virtual runs. As many of you will be tired of hearing me say...I have no running friends here, no ParkRuns and no races. This is a brilliant idea. As soon as I convince them to send my medal to Canada, I'm in. Thanks btw to all my wonderful cyber running buddies here who fill the void!!!🌟🏃🏼‍♀️😀

Prosecco an added bonus!🥂🍾🥂🍾🥂

Prosecco is always a bonus. Maybe you should start a run? If I remember rightly the website says 'free UK postage' which implies they send further afield...

I just went on the site. Did you see the wizarding one in October. I think that's the one!! I am so pleased for you and even more pleased you decided to share. There is one race a year here , tomorrow! Five and ten k options, men and women and at the moment there are a total of 137 people registered.....there really is not enough interest/population to get anything regular off the ground. I get a t shirt for entering tomorrow but no bling😞(Unless I finish in top three in my category....not gonna happen!). I really fancy a medal with 9 3/4 on it!! And I could do it before the snow arrives😀😀

Watch this space. Thanks again

No worries. Go for the virtual racing option for bling. I was really impressed with the quality (and the sparklyness). Good luck tomorrow.

ps: I did see the wizarding one but HP has passed me by - I think I'm a little beyond the target group! But I look forward to seeing your pic of it!

Me too, but I have been saturated with it, by my kids! Two were same age as Harry, growing up with him and went through early teens waiting for the next book/ year at Hogwarts to be released!

I have no kids but my friend's daughter is the same age as HP, which I think is really sweet, and she (daughter) is besotted with it (actually, I must tell her about the race, thanks!)
