..."knee plasters" aren't big enough for my knees. Or my elbows, come to that!! (Oops - sideways photo of elbow!!)

Just under 1km run and tripped over the edge of a paving slab. Ouch!!!! 🀀 Two lovely men stopped and checked I was ok - one even offered to give me a lift home! But I never run far from my house, and it was only a 5 minute walk home.

Grazed and bruised left elbow and palm and right knee - very pretty!!! Stings a bit (especially where I got grit in my palm, but got most of it out - phew), but mainly feel a bit stupid. 😢 Mind you, for someone as accident prone as me, I'm surprised it has taken until now! πŸ˜‚

Fingers crossed it all heals quickly and I'll be back out again on Sunday as planned!! (But might just go and get some bigger plasters just in case! 😁)

That looks stingy πŸ˜– But you can show it off now and bore your non-running friends rigid with all the gory details about how you did it 😏

The daft thing is I can trip over my own feet, so am truly amazed that I have managed to get this far without doing this!!!

Ouch - yes that would definiteky hurt more!!!

My knee doesn't feel so bad this morning, but my elbow is quite bruised! Fortunately you don't need elbows to be able to run!!

Don't let it put you off! Isn't there some saying for the accident prone?

Ooh just googled:

'Those who mastered in the art of falling have no fear of rising!

Mehmet Murat ildan'

Not quite sure I've mastered it yet!! It as the attempted slide as I landed that did the most damage!!!

Oh poor you. Savlon helps - did the same 2 weeks ago and both knees looked like a 5 year old childs. Healing now but scabs itchy!

Did wonder about an antiseptic cream, but don't own any! Mind you, had to go to the chemist this morning to get some melanin pads to put on my elbow - plasters just aren't big enough!!!

Phooow, that looks sore..😯

Can't remember whether it heals more quickly covered or left to the air..

Maybe covered would be more comfortable..

Hug x

Thanks.

Yes, I checked online and general consensus now seems to be covered (and that is definitely more comfortable for my elbow and palm, but trying it let my knee have some air - although it was protected by my wearing 3/4 length tights, not having got round to getting any shorts yet!!!). Bit self conscious though with a 10cm square of melanin taped to my elbow!!! πŸ˜πŸ€•

Today's lesson is also, how kind people can be, stopping and offering you lifts! Great war/running wounds to show off in the pub!

Yes, I was quite touched that two men both checked I was ok and, when it was clear I was walking the same way as them and past their respective houses, checked again!! 😊

Was discussing "falling over" wounds with a friend this morning (although hers wasn't from running - but did something similar while walking!) 😁
