There was a little discussion recently in relation to new graduates finding it hard to find a routine after the C25K programme with Laura or on Apps. I was looking on this Forum la few weeks ago and found some posts with the titles above, thought it might be a good idea to resurrect the title and make it Part II. The original discussions were from just over 1 year ago. So if it's OK I'll get it started. If your a new graduate please feel free to add your plans for keeping running post graduation below. This is for week 3, whether you have just graduated over the past few months. Next weekend I'll make a new post for week IV.

Last week I had a mixed bag of runs. Last Tuesday I ran 5k and really enjoyed it. On Thursday I was away in London with work and brought my running gear. After the meeting I ran over 5k from the London Eye to The Shard and back again. It was really cool, loved that run. However I over celebrated at a work night out in London on Thursday night and suffered a little on the Tube, Heathrow Express and Flight home to Ireland on Friday. As a result I didn't drink enough water and rehydrate myself. So on Saturday when I ran at my local Parkrun I was too dehydrated, and although I started off at a good Pace of 6.00 min / KM I just could not keep up the pace and after 2km I was wrecked. I needed to slow down and run/walk for a little part of the run. I finished with a time of 34:32, but hey, I finished. So my quest for a sub 30 min 5K continues.

Have a good week everyone.

Last week I did stepping stones on Monday and found that I liked having a bit of structure again as I am not running to any plan at this stage. I then decided that I was ready to give bridge to 10k a go so I found a podcast to have a go with. My Thursday run is time limited so I just went out for a 25 minute run meaning that I was ready to start on Saturday. A five minute warm up walk followed by 10 min run 1 min walk repeated 4 times and I covered 3.3 miles during the running section. I did the run again this morning - nothing but consistent covering 3.3 miles again! I am finding the final ten minute run hard going but am enjoying the structure.

I did another park run on Saturday, being a tourist again as away at a wedding. Excited to get home yesterday to shiny new shoes, so went out for a quick 20 mins to test them tonight....

Just tried the "Zombies. Run!" app. Made my run a bit more interesting. Combined with some 80s Rock, I had a rather pleasant 25 min tootle around.

Cool. I have that app Zombies Run downloaded on my phone. Have not used it yet. Just back in from a 5k run with a local running group. It was really great. I loved it. I met with a new group from the same running club as I joined who run closer to my home. Met up with 7 ladies who run at a nice pace, about 6:30/km . They were very friendly and welcoming. It was great. And we ran through a Torrential rain. We were soaked.

That's dedication! And a good pace. I'm still some way off that. Back to Parkrun on Sat.
