This reminds me of an encounter in a local shop after a walking holiday. The shopkeeper commented on my tan and said, leeringly, "are there any white bits?"

Quick as a flash (so to speak), I replied "yes, do you want to see them?" as I rolled up my trouser leg to expose my ankles.
