Persistence

I started couch to 5k two years ago today. I've had stumbles over this time, finished it once. My asthma has been problematic all my life, I'm now 52, but the difference running at any stage of the app has made to my lungs makes me thankful every day that I started this journey. I had to have a reluctant break last year after tripping on a rabbit hole and tearing ligaments in my foot. Then my lungs were arguing with me and became quite sore. But this week I've started again at the gym. I've found running outside is difficult for my breathing because of the allergens and the cold and the air is consistent at the gym, so I know that's best.

Despite having completed before, my first run on Saturday stung my lungs so much I found breathing difficult on Sunday but yesterday I did run two, week one, a little slower and today I feel amazing!

I love this app. Don't be despondent if you're struggling, just go back a bit and try again. I couldn't imagine my life without running now πŸƒβ€οΈβ€οΈπŸƒ

It certainly does! I've only had three chest infections since starting couch to 5k, which is unheard of for me πŸ˜€
