Hi feeling abit deflated. I had got up to week 7 on my running machine as I am very very overweight/obese. I transitioned outside today and was only able to run for 10 minutes instead of 22 any tips? Mx

Ah, the curse of the treadmill! I too fell foul of the curse yesterday!!! There are a few reasons - although, please note, whilst I'm happy to fully 100% believe in these explanations as I give them to you, I'm not as good at accepting my own words
So, firstly, the treadmill paces you and getting into a steady pace is hugely important. Secondly, the treadmill does not prepare you for hills - unless you do it on an incline (which I don't). Thirdly, I'll bet you were running faster. Then there's having to stop or slow down for pedestrians/junctions etc etc. These are all huge factors. I'm not sure where you're based but down South it's actually pretty warm today - that won't have helped either. Tarmac/pavements are much harder surfaces to run on too, making it harder on your legs.
For me, the biggest reasons for my troublesome run yesterday were the uneven and narrow path which made finding a regular pace impossible on top of my gremlins that were working overtime telling me how much harder it is to run outside than it is on a treadmill.
So, try not to beat yourself up over this and don't give up on running outside - I'm not and will be hitting the streets again tomorrow evening as long as it's not too hot. There are real bonuses to running outside too - in that it's not as boring. Don't give up - you had a crappy run, it happens to the best atheletes. And as for being massively overweight - I'm sure a huge number of us on this forum are - I certainly am!
On a treadmill, you're not actually pushing your bodyweight forward. The energy you expend is just like jogging on the spot. It's good exercise but it's not running.
But don't beat yourself up. 10 minutes running in one go is a good effort. A lot of people can't manage that, and that even extends to people who are physically fit in other disciplines. Just stick at it.
That transition is a difficult one, but you did fine. Just keep repeating the run outdoors until you get used to it.

I found a big difference running outside compared with the treadmill. Its more difficult outdoors, so it seemed to take a bit more training to get used to it. On the plus side you get the fresh air and sun on your face if the weather is cooperating! Good luck!
I ran outside for the first time on Sunday WK4R1 and could really feel the difference from running inside. Just keep going it'll take while to adjust but you can do it
I don't know if you were doing this already, but the general advice when using a treadmill is to have it set on at least 1% incline so you'll find is more like running outside in the flat and makes the transition easier.
I agree you need the resistance otherwise it is soul destroying when you run on real ground. Also slow down outside.
