Fantastic Video and a beautiful looking venue for a Parkrun. Nice to see an old disused Airfield being used for something else other than building on. Thanks for sharing, that was really cool. Great skills by that drone pilot.

Looks great - I had to stop and queue at a narrow point this morning.

The reason for the video is that we had to move our course. We did have a narrow start, and with up to 500 runners, it was getting restrictive. So the start has moved to the runway (this is the old Greenham Common airbase) to give a wider start.

Certainly does the trick. Greenham Common that takes me back, much better to have runners on it. .

Wow. Beautiful route. Ours is really hilly, and all the Parkrun tourists get hit with the high altitude. I'd love to run yours. Looks like you have 10x the runners as well. Fun stuff

457 runners today.

Gosh. We had 80 which was about double our usual because it was Canada Day. Hundreds of people must be fun.

Wow! This looks great. My parkrun has a narrow start too, which makes for a slow start with sometimes around 500 runners, and it can be a bit boring/repetitive as it is 3 laps of a park. This one looks brilliant, I would love to run it. Seem to remember speaking to you about it before. I am only 45 minutes from Newbury and I used to work there, so I may have to try it out! I think I want to finish my first 50 at my local parkrun (I'm 14 away), but then I may branch out next year!

Also, I got a drone for my birthday and it is impossible to control, this guy did an amazing job. How did he cover so much of the course, was he running it with his remote?!?

Just a lot of practice! The course is one long oval, so you can see two of the longer sides, plus the start/finish line.

Just found this post and watched the video. I haven't done a Parkrun yet but we're (hopefully) moving soon so it is my aim to do one by the end of this year. Loved the video and seeing all the little coloured shirts bobbing along!
