By Jove, I'm nearly a runner...

Ok, so I haven't quite finished the programme yet, but...

Last Sunday I did my 5k Race for Life in 30° heat, jogging all the way & completing it in 33:40.

Then I had a bit of a rest week - should've been my week 9 but I was all out of sync thanks to the Race on the Sunday, so only managed one run & that was HARD in the heat with my running buddy in her buggy.

BUT today, I had my usual Monday full-on gym session & got myself on the treadmill to do my w9r2, set it on variable incline (to better simulate outdoor running) & did my entire 30 minutes 'comfortably'! When I say 'comfortably', I mean I was still DRIPPING sweat, & still getting rather pink in my face no doubt (now matching my hair which I dyed pink for the RfL) but I was able to keep a steady pace of 8.5kph for 25 mins then upped it gradually to 9kph to finish. And I felt like I could've maybe done that slightly faster speed earlier and/or kept going for a bit longer. In fact, I was that person in the gym this morning that was still plodding away on the treadmill whilst others came & went. It felt awesome! 😄
