Glorious

Went out at 6 to beat the heat, and found it was 10 degrees cooler than yesterday anyway. Then discovered my weight vest had sprung a leak where one of the straps is tearing away after yesterday's run, so couldn't wear it today.

Consequently I ran unencumbered, in a gentle cool breeze. It felt like walking on and in air. Heavenly.

Cooler here too today. I have Run 3 Week 9 later. Hopefully I will enjoy my graduation run as much as your run this morning.

Oooh lovely! Running with nothing at all, not even a car key is bliss. I love it 😃

Although I live on the edge of town we have some lovely meadows nearby, and at the moment they are absolutely gorgeous. I have been pausing to gawp at their loveliness 🙂

Sounds great. Was lovely and cool here too after the absolutely draining outing of 3 days ago.

I'm picturing a vest weighted with sand with a hole in it, getting lighter and lighter as you run. That would be fantastic - you'd feel like a hero at the end.

and its black sand too so I would have been able to find my way home.

Slightly less positively though, the black sand looks remarkably like gunpowder so a trail of it looks like a long fuse, and the weight vest looks rather like an explosive vest at a distance, which is slightly problematic running near a large Marine base.

Just curious, Rignold. How much weight does it add? ( Assuming it's not leaking!)

15kg. About 2 stone

Wow! No wonder you felt floaty without it, that's like carrying a toddler on your run...but a bit less wriggly

That's the same weight as my 3 year-old. Don't let her hear about this or she'll want me to carry her on my runs too. As it is I already push a 10kg 1 year-old in a buggy...
