The election has messed with my head....

Or at least staying up most of the night to watch the results, even though the exit poll was all I needed to know, and depriving myself of sleep didn't change the result one iota.

Tried my first home post injury Parkrun this morning. It was rubbish! I'm used to running through the tightness in my leg, but I just couldn't get my head to work - so gave in to a short walk, then another & another & I'm sure another! I was just too tired to run.

So in the next election in 6 months time, I will remind myself that the exit poll is enough & the result will still be there in the morning!!!

I guess I turned up, so that's better than nothing.

*πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ I've just seen my time (28:12 - much better than I feared) & suddenly the run wasn't quite as rubbish as I thought! How fickle am I?!!!!πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ*

Yep, I agree - wish I'd gone to bed after the exit poll too! Made myself run yesterday after work and pleased I went but I certainly flagged later in the evening! I am sure your next run out will be a lot better. As for 'next election' ....you just know you will do the same all over again!!

I've promised myself I won't, but you're right, I said that two years ago!!!!

I didn't stay up ALL night after the referendum last year, or the Scottish one in 2014. I was more aware that I had to get up for work the next day - but I did yesterday too!!!!

And I had volunteered to do set up in what felt the middle of the night this morning!!!!

I didn't stay up, and ran yesterday morning. I'm gradually getting back to my previous fitness, but it's taking a long time. I am at least managing 5k without pain. Sorry your Parkrun didn't go so well, but you'll get there I'm sure. x

I'm glad you're beginning to get back to your fitness, it's been a long time for you. 😞

Hope all injuries are now behind you.

Hi Davoda , good on you for doing the parkrun today. I wanted a week off from volunteering this week. Given that you are just getting back after your injury, sure it is better to have the walking breaks rather than push it too much.

I'm sure the fatigue was a factor too. I was pretty tired all day yesterday, I always stay up for the results, although only lasted till about 3 am this time.

See you at the parkrun soon :)

You must be close to graduation now?

Yes, finished week 8 today :) Get week 9 done next week. I will probably consolidate 30 mins/5k for a few weeks before parkrun. Will be volunteering until then.

I'm interested that you don't want to do Parkrun until you've consolidated 30mins /5k. Just wondering your rational for that? πŸ˜€

Want to keep it as motivation for when I start to flag. Parkrun will be still be there. Not as if there are low numbers at our event. I'm in no hurry :)

I can understand that (sort off!). You could of course do one straight after graduation, to get your benchmark time (mine is always slightly different to my watch - which I'd forgotten today) and keep that for when you're ready for a motivation boost. πŸ˜‰

That's a great time to me. I turned the radio on every couple of hours through the night - bad decision. Still slept well last night.

I know! We know we shouldn't, but they keep you enough wee things to keep you hooked. "Amber Rudd's seat is looking unsafe..." "Justine Greening is vulnerable...". And before you know it, it's 4:30 am and light outside!!!!!

I think there'll be no more walking holidays in Wales for the foreseeable future!
