How long before it shows

Ive' just completed C25K & am amazed at myself.. Ive lost 61/2 stone & the weight loss is now slowing down. Everyone says running helps to change yr shape & helps weight loss. My question is how many times a week & for how long do I need to run to start seeing the changes?

Well done you. That is an impressive weight loss.

I have never run to lose weight so I can't offer advice from personal experience, however, I am surprised that you haven't noticed yourself being more toned, if you have completed the programme. Many people notice going down a size or two, even if they don't lose weight.

If you continue running for thirty minutes, three times per week, then as long as you aren't compensating for exercise by eating more, I would expect you to notice a difference fairly quickly. If you increase the distance of one of those runs, gradually, by no more than 10% of your weekly total, per week then you will begin to get more returns for your effort......the longer you run, the more you burn off.

Thanks for the advice.. I have gone down between 5 & 6 dress sizes. I had lost most of the weight before taking up the program so to be honest I'm not noticing much more change in my body... I'm hoping the running helps to tone me some more.
