Fatty to Fitty!

It's now or never right?! I've been dieting on and off for the last 15 years but never really focused on combining healthy eating with exercise. Just back from a lovely family holiday in the sun but it was taken over by my feelings of insecurity; the dreaded swimwear, shorts, sleeveless tops. Well, I don't want my next holiday to be like that and I am the only one who can change it! Me. Nobody else. So my time is now and I am going to set myself the goal of 5k so I can actively take part in our local park run and then see what happens after that. After all, what's the worst that could happen?!

Go you! the first step is the most important! As a fat mum I never thought I could run.

Trust the program, you can do it!

Thank you! I think the hardest part has been facing up to the fact I'm fat and have recently bought clothes that are my proper size so no more tight jeans and control pants! My goal at the end of this is to never have to wear control underwear again!!

Go you!

You have come to the right place... and you are right, healthy eating combined with exercise.. perfect!

Having a target is great, but try to focus on getting to being able to run for thirty mins rather than 5K... many graduates, never do 5K in 30 mins...many don't want to :) Lots of our half marathon and marathon runners in this family forum, have not ever done 5K in 30 mins, but they are amazing runners.

So...what is the worse that can happen....?

Well...you will feel fitter, mentally and physically, your feeling of insecurity will vanish, and be replaced by a self confidence and an awareness of just how amazing you are...friends and family we stand in awe of you... oh and your bank balance will shrink... because new holiday clothes will be needed in smaller sizes...!!!

Wonderful eh?

Keep posting and above all take it very, very steady and slow :)

Thanks Oldfloss! Yes, I want to be able to run 5k and sub 30! I am quite competitive and already have some running friends who will keep me motivated. Just off for my starting session using the app!

Hi, I was slimming and I lost 2 stone but just couldn't get below that. I started the C25k to help my weight loss. To be honest I haven't lost that much and I'm on week 8. However, I feel so much better about myself and have a new confidence. My clothes fit better and I feel like I'm taking control back.

Well done for starting - you have done the hardest bit xx
