And in a light hearted way of course but those people on your Facebook who say " gee watching you do this C25k makes me want to give it a pop after no exercise for 10 years" and then on their first go they run for 6miles and say "phew.. Guess I don't need the plan." ... Those people. Grrr. Rant over.

... or like when I joined a beginners' running group once and then everyone set off running up a hill and with me puffing and panting behind! Turns out many 'used to' run 10ks regularly but hadn't 'for a while'. Add to that the concern of the super fit/always had been fit leader who just couldn't get why I was breathless and suggested I might have asthma! Grrr indeed!!
But that will probably be the only post they ever write because they
a) won't bother running again because they'll decide they don't need to because they can run anyway
b) will injure themselves and will be too embarrassed to write another post because they won't want to admit they're an idiot
So you will have the last laugh when you regularly go out running 3 times a week and stay injury free 👍
Sometimes I just need to let off steam I guess. I've been so tired from night shifts and just want my final run out the way now . Feeling all snappy. Friday it is. Today I'm going to actually get some sleep and get my last shift out the way for the week. Game face Friday.
Enjoy Friday run - can't be easy managing your energy w night shifts. Run, Rick, Run! (Steadily, slowly, no racing - I'm learning the mantra.)
Just a thought, Rickne, I too did my graduation run on a Friday evening after a heavy week at work.......too impatient to wait til the Saturday morning......the result was a long hard slog, remembered for all the wrong reasons.
My advice is to set up your graduation run with great care so that you remember it for all the right reasons.
Good luck.
Good luck for Friday - not long and it'll be in the bag. I don't 'do' facebook but a friend picked me up recently to go out for my birthday and she asked if I'd had a nice day, so I commented that I'd been for a birthday run (my first after graduation) and she replied "oh are you still doing that?!" I was mighty cross ... infuriating to treat my running so lightly - I know you lovely lot will understand!! 😉 Happy last run Rickne 🏃
Errrr... do not believe all you read It is so easy to say anything, on paper
As Slinkyminky says, they never post again, mainly because the adoration they feel they are entitled to does not occur.. or they are fibbing, or they are on the IC.
I have been really ranting about this lately.. it was making me so grumpy I had to stop posting for a while ... you have done this properly from the beginning...
Rest up and make Friday a run to remember.. steady and slow and we will all be waiting to cheer you on to the Graduation Podium!!!!
Good Luck with the run on Friday Rickne - graduation looms. The best runners are those that encourage others.
Go get that last run of the programme under your belt Rick..,,,, you are a runner Mister! 💪🏻🏃🏻
Ha ha, well you will go on Facebook!
it's you that matters so focus on your graduation run. I hope, far from being irritated, you will be in championship mood. Nothing can rain on your parade.
So, go out and enjoy it. Run freeeeeeeeeeeee 🏃🏅🍰✔️😃
Yeah but those people who do a 6 miler straight out the door after 10 years of no exercise - imagine how their legs are going to feel the next morning...
A guy that I know, who I would have said was honest, told me that he joined in a marathon, not officially, and completed the whole thing ........with no training.........
Just to neutralise your rant a little... Well done for getting to graduation! You are an inspiration to a lot of people further down the C25K program who can only dream of going 'the distance'.
You go for it and enjoy your graduation run. You can then bask in the glory of being a GRADUATE
Yeah, HUGE well done but I hear ya fella. A woman at work informed me once that she "just ran 5k" on a whim. It was easy, apparently. I have another friend whose just turned 60 and likes to say "you'd be proud of me, when I was working trackside the other day (she's a physio) we all just decided to run 5 times round the track in the morning, again in the evening and again the next day. I must have covered, ooh, 10-12k ...?" And I say with forced jollity "ooh good for You!"
And I'm 7 years younger than her and feel like I'm running through treacle most of the time!
Mega day and week at work. Felt good to offload that!!
