Some pretty steep grades, 20s, 30s even 42% on this trail, making it feel like the same amount of work as the Goat Hill route but it's 2 miles less distance.
386 feet of ascent in the first 1.5 miles. Feels like more! ughhh What beautiful suffering.

Bet it was a lovely view from the top, and it looks like a great time to me considering the gradient. I would still be huffing and puffing my way to the top!
Yeah there are beautiful views on this trail. That's one thing about trails, the scenery is wonderful. I cannot go slow enough, without actually walking, to keep this ascent in the "easy miles" category, so yep, huffing and puffing it is. But since this is the 5K run happening on May 13th, I have been training for it on the trail. I was previously hoping just to finish. Hoping to get down to 45 minutes now. We'll see.
