Morning all. Feeling chuffed with myself today as I completed C25K early this morning. It has taken me 5 months from my very first week 1 run to complete. Over this period I have had two restarts back to week 1 due to injuries. I can't say it's been easy as my 60 year old knees have grumbled all the way through.

Whilst I wasn't a prolific poster, I did read many posts which were inspirational. I have to mention & thank both the administrators and those grduates who respond to all the posts made my people going through the programme - you really do make it all possible.

Now looking to improve on my future running distance before entering the local park run.

Off to collect my graduation badge now.

Happy running all.

Thank you, hope you enjoy the C25K journey. For me, it had it's ups & downs, but got there in the end.

Weyhey, congratulations Ched, graduation is a great achievement, no matter how long it takes. Look after those knees when you start to increase your distances, slow and steady is the way to go. Why wait to try Parkrun? No one says you have to run it all on your first attempt! :)

Thanks Ancientmum. Been a long wait to graduate but got there in the end. May take up your advice & try a park run & see how I go. Thanks again😀

Hey! Ched congratulations! on your great achievement.Nice badge ! Knew you would do it! Was thinking about how you got on yesterday while I was at work. So pleased for you. I feel as if we have got there together😀 Anyway sorry about late post and congrats, only just seen your post. Have written to you on your reply to me on Thursday but came here just incase you didn't receive message.

Anyway what's the plan now. I plan to do 2 sponsored charity runs (I think I have already harped on about that) are you going in for any runs soon?

Keep up the good work Ched. I'm planning to run 3 times a week I think that will be my limit as I think age will prevail me from running anymore oh and of course work ha!!

Keep posting and happy running!!😄😄🎓🍾🍾🎂🎉

Thanks Peggy59 (fellow Graduate) I am not sure how to proceed now, I think that I will continue with the 30 minute runs for the next few weeks, I will aim to do 2 or 3 each week as I prefer to leave a couple of days between each run. I hope to get nearer to the 5K mark for a 30 minute run as currently I am only achieving approx. 4k - but I believe that will improve with time. I also intend to join in the local 5K park run after Easter. I do intend to keep posting as things progress.

Wishing you all the best for the future runs and hope that things progress and you stay stay injury free. 😀

Good for you Ched. I have to agree with you about leaving a couple of days in between runs,I think it allows you to really recharge your batteries!

4K in 30mins is great and you are not far off 5k . For myself I think I'm about the same .where I live it's farm tracks and inclines so it sometimes gets a bit harder to push up the inclines .However if we persevere we will get there!

I was thinking about trying the 5k + but I think I'll just keep doing what I'm doing as I'm just enjoying it so much

Anyway Ched happy running and enjoy your park runs ( their good fun)

Keep safe and kind regards 😄😄

I graduated about 3 weeks ago and am still striving to get to 5k

Found i have managed to do a few more yards each time

Still hate running but still determined

Thank you Woldsend. I too will try and progress further with my distance but think it may be a struggle. Having got this far I am determined to progress, but like you I can't say that I enjoy the running, but do the feeling on completion.
