I hope to use this to track my progress and keep myself motivated
I am over 50, overweight and not run since school!
So W1 R1 done. Legs a bit tired but generaly not too bad.

Hello and welcome, yes it's a great place to track your progress here, but, even better it's an amazing community of lovely like minded people who will help to cheer you on and lift you up on those days when the gremlins come out in force.
There are quite a few over 50's here, some much older, most of us have never run before either so you are not alone
The main thing is you're out there doing it and you'll get heaps of support from everyone here.
This the ideal place to come to. Brilliant start for you and stick to it because you will get there. We all started at W1 and progressed.
I myself will complete C25K on Thursday and so pleased I started this programme as before I was just going out running and walking but not much structure to my running,so I am thankful for this programme. The support you will receive from the forum is amazing .
So just keep going, slow and steady, listen to Laura and just enjoy it. Keep posting to let us know how you are getting on! 😄😄
Welcome.... follow the C25K programme.. keep it steady and slow and listen to your body...
It may protest a bit at first
Take your rest days in between your three runs, and if you feel you need an extra one..that is just fine. Exercises on rest days can help.. swimming, yoga, walking, cycling?
Juts keep posting, any questions, just ask, we go through this together
Good luck...
