Road runner here..beep beep..Yay c25k week 9 day 3 accomplished I didn't manage to do 5k but I don't think 4.4k in just 9 was is bad going. I'm going to stick with 30 mins till I do it and then move onto bridge to 10k. If there is anyone out there who is feeling unsure stick with it use muscle pain relief cream make sure you do your stretches before and after runs this is most important something I didn't do at first and for every step you take Feel absolutely amazeballs you can do it! Not only has this been a triumphant goal it has changed my body shape..but I suppose losing 37 lbs since 2 Jan has helped. I'm more focused and positive oh am I feel so darn fit too!! Thanks everyone for your support xxx

Well done! It does feel great don't it!
I think the name Couch to 5K is catchy but misleading. Like yourself and many others, I didn't quite make the full 5 in 30 minutes at first, it depend son your pace of course.
But It soon cracked the sub 30min 5K and and now am now regularly doing 10K's in around 57 mins. It all comes with time if you keep it up.
I couldn't agree more on the stretching too, it's so important. I didn't do it enough and ended up injured and unable to run for 3 months last year.
Same here with the body shape too! I'm pushing 50 and need to do this to stop things dropping and drooping any further!

Whoop whoop! That's brilliant, many congratulations to you and on the weight loss too!
Don't worry about the 5K thing, the more you run the further and faster you become. It's spooky 🙂
One thing though - don't stretch before a run as you're stretching cold muscles and this is when they're easier damaged. Do some leg swinging, squats, lunges etc or just walking to warm up and then keep the stretches until after the run.

Whoop whoop! Well done
Amazing feeling isn't it, onwards and upwards and free to do your own thing now, whatever that may be, I can't do 5k in 30 minutes and I doubt I ever will, but am happy enough to get close in those 30 minutes, at the end of the day we are out there running and that is something special I think.
