A message to any newbies ....

Hi everyone, I'm feeling guilty that I've started week 7 today but never posted. I can't believe that I've now completed two 25 min runs, I've found every run really hard but somehow managed to complete them all. Your supportive posts and my 'new best friend' Laura are what have kept me going.

I decided I really must post in the hope that anyone just starting C25K reads this and realises that they can do it too. I shall be 60 in May, I have never run before or been to a gym.

I shall continue to read all your posts to help me on my way to graduation ... I need all the support I can find. Thank you.

Well done. It's such a buzz when you realise how far you have come. And it's such a good programme to learn with. Keep it up!

Hi. I've only just joined but am at the end of week 6 & this is my first post! Sounds like you're doing great! I hated running at school & am not a gym person either but I am mostly loving the runs - when they go well. I'm also amazed that I can run for 25 mins! I'm 46 and my motivation for carrying on is improving my health/fitness levels and my sanity! My job is hectic & my mum died at the beginning of the year after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Running gives me some head space & I'm quite scared of entering a race but would love to raise more money for Alzheimer's Research. Keep going & remind yourself of why you started this fab C25K plan!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. My grandfather had Alzheimer's, it's a cause that's near and dear to my heart. Please consider entering the race. You'll be fine, I promise. You might even enjoy it. It's a great way to celebrate your hard work, and I find it very moving to run with a group, and doubly so when it's for such a meaningful cause.

Thanks for your encouragement! Sorry to hear your Grandad had it too. It would be good to run with a group and you're right about having a sense of purpose when raising money for charity. I'll start looking for a suitable race!
