Tracking Apps....

Been out for a relatively early run this morning - it may be because there's a 10K coming up around the town in a few weeks, or just that the weather is better, but there were quite a few other runners out, and it's great to feel that I belong there as much as anyone! Not that I'm entering the 10K - this morning saw me running 5.1km which is my official non-stop maximum, and as it's in three weeks time it's not on my personal radar.... A nice morning for a run though, and I passed 5K on the tracker with the time at 34:10, a new best.

Unfortunately for me, I can't do my normal look at pace etc, as it seems the most recent update to MapMyRun isn't agreeing with my phone - it tracked OK, but when it came to asking to save the workout it crashed having shown me the run I did on Friday (when it also crashed!) instead of today's.... Any recommendations for a different app? I'm on Android, and it doesn't need to be too all-singing and dancing - reliable tracking, being able to view speed and elevation history is all I need!

Before I bought a Garmin I used RunKeeper which I found OK. However, I suppose if your phone crashed then no App is going to be survive that!!

Runkeeper is my favourite, because you can programme intervals, but Endomondo does a nice job of picking out your fastest 1k,5k etc from within a run and keeps a good record of PBs. Strava permits you to compare your pace over set routes or segments with other runners. I have only used the free versions.

Great time on your 5k Albert!

I use MMR without any issues, however mine is not an Anroid phone. Im sure you will get the right advice from those who do. Happy running πŸ˜€πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I think Endomondo is popular from what I've heard. I think Dan uses it. He can programme in how far he wants to run and the app tells him (in his earole) how far he's gone, how far he's gone and when he's done. I fancy it myself but need a phone first
