Speedy rainbow!

Well, sort of! I knew I needed to go for a run last night, and decided that Speed would probably fit the bill nicely. Last week's attempt at it was hard work, and I ended up walking after the fourth and fifth quick intervals, so I had a nice target for improvement if I felt up to it.

This time, the 155bpm at the start didn't feel so bad after the first couple of minutes. And after the five minutes I was ready. First quick interval felt easy; slow 150bpm didn't feel as painfully slow as last time; second quick interval also comfortable. I can do this!

The third was slightly harder, but at least I knew once that was done there were only three more to go... and I ran them all last time so can do the same again... Fourth one done, I'm going to run this whole slow recovery bit. Yep, all ok. Fifth one, definitely not going to give in and walk after this one, it's the last slow bit! Sixth quick interval and DONE!

Yay! Exactly what I needed. A short run (cos I was hungry, as was Mr Rainbow, and he was waiting for me to get back so we could eat!), but very positive, and concentrating on the beat meant my thoughts couldn't go to the stressful things happening in Life. Happy Rainbow! :)

That's the way to do it !

Glad it went well.. and isn't it great how it releases those stresses of the day :)

It always makes me smile how we mention , short, runs... If anyone had told me I would be saying things like, "Oh at the moment only managing a short 3K... I would have laughed very loudly!

Hope your meal was extra tasty... you deserved it :)

I know - 2.04 miles including the walks at start and end, in 27 mins. Because that was the quick and easy option for the evening! :D I love how discovering running has changed me! :)

And yes, super-delicious (and healthy!) meal - Beetroot, Orange & Lemon Smoked Salmon with beetroot & horseradish chutney, and a big pile of salad leaves with some nice dressing :)

Sounds like a great run. That's what running is all about, getting away from life to have a little bit of time just for ourselves. Perfect!

Definitely. So important to have that 'me time', just me and the run, no other thoughts allowed. :) I've never yet not felt better as a result.

Me neither. Never regretted a run only ever regretted not getting out there! I try to keep that in mind every time I feel like I don't fancy it.
