W7R1 I DID IT!! Well after much procrastination I completed this run on the treadmill yesterday. Not easy but I didn't slow down or stop π Thank you to everyone who commented with really encouraging remarks. You are right it's the mental challenge that is the hardest, I have to change my mindset & believe I can run. After all at W1R1 I struggled running for 60 seconds! ππ

It amazes me even now, how incredible this programme is. How many of us gasped and spluttered our way through those first 60 second runs?!
Week 7. You have just completed 25 x 60 seconds with NO walk breaks. How awesome are you? You're absolutely right about the mental challenge because even now, knowing how long I can run for, my head always whispers "are you sure you can do this?" before every run!
Massive well done! It's just little increases in time now. Countdown to graduation. You got this! βΊβΊβΊ
Week 7! Would you have thought that would be possible 6 weeks ago? Well done on getting your head in gear and achieving what any number of new starters can only dream about.
Brilliant post. Well done. A lot of it is mind over matter. It's just getting out there and getting started. Back in April couldn't run for a bus now could beat the bus home ! It definitely gets easier especially once you've done a few continuous runs.
I now am near top end of normal BMI in weight. Physically and mentally sharper compared to lethargic couch potato last year. Even at 60 starting to study again.
Run 6 1/2 K for about 43 minutes. I have a what I call a stamina buffer so that I can never have a bad run. My aim was to run for 30 minutes anything else is a bonus.
When I drop down to run for 30 minutes (still not quite 5K but nearly) it's as they say "like a walk in the park".
Your on the right track to it becoming a good habit. Even if like me you don't have ambitions to run marathons or anything it's such a life changer. From possibly heading towards being diabetic to avoiding potential future on medication and feeling great.
Still today finished with a smile despite running a fraction slower. The fact that I overcome the colder conditions and still was more or less on a par with previous run made me feel good.
Happy running and keep us all posted.
You can!! Great work, 25 minutes - so close to that 30 minute goal now!
Go you!
