Hiya,

I have started c25k again this week after 2 months off. I got to week 6 day 2 on my last run. I didnt over do it at xmas/newyears ( I was ill) I started from week 6 day 3 on Monday (25 mins straight running) and behind my knee was hurting afterwards it was quite painful. It seems ok today though. If I carry on with week 7 today do you think I'm asking for trouble? Should I go back a few days? I feel ok to do it though?

Mmmm, personally I'd have gone back to week 5 and worked up from there, seeing how it went - but then I'm always convinced that I'll never be able to do it anyway...! If your knee is hurting today, that does suggest it feels you've overdone things a bit, so even if your fitness was good enough to get through the whole 25 mins, your muscles and joints might appreciate a bit of a chance to catch up!

Hi RainbowC,

Thanks for your reply! I know what you mean. It does feel ok today to be fair. I have been walking around work etc and no probs. I am a bit stubborn with these kind of things you see, I almost see it as a step back if I return a day but maybe the time off didnt help! Looking at week 6 day 2, there is a rest in between running so I may go for that and see how I get on. I've been trying to complete the whole thing now for ages and I guess I'm dying to be able to run 30 mins straight! :-)

Enthusiasm and motivation are great - but if you've had 8 weeks off, after 6 weeks of running, that's why I'd be slightly cautious. Only you know how you feel, though, and if your body seems to be saying it works fine, then that's great. But better safe than sorry, and you don't want to cause an injury by going in too quickly, when going in slightly more gradually could prevent that and ultimately get you to the 30 mins sooner...

Yeah I think you're right. I'm going to take it easier on this one. Thanks again!
