Or do you run more or less? Just curious (and hopeful that I'll get there!!)
After you graduate do you still run 3x per week? - Couch to 5K
After you graduate do you still run 3x per week?
I try and run the same, 3 times a week. But I try and run further than 5k now. I don't have a specific end target to run to though, just happy to see what I can do
A year after graduation, I have kept to three times a week. I found after graduation, my legs were still recovering from the programme and so continued to do 3 x 30 minutes. Then on a good day, I kept going longer until I reached 5k. I decided to go for 3 x 5k which was a challenge for some time. I now run 2 x 5k and have gradually built up to 1 x 10k, and I find the rest days are good for me and prevented injury. There are different things I do in running rest days - walking, cycling, step aerobics for example but hopefully my running muscles still recover
It comes and goes. When I'm doing good I run 3-4 times a week. These days it's 1-2 times. My distances fluctuate as well. As long as I keep running, I'm happy and don't beat myself up for easing off from time to time.
I've only just graduated, but I'm planning on still doing 3 times a week (and work up to 10k as well).
About once a week at the moment just doing Parkrun, as trying to have a rest for a few weeks and during holidays, but also get in some Cross-Training on stat bike, but will get back to 2-3 times a week running 5k with maybe 1 slightly longer run.The minimum should be twice a week, just bear that in mind..By all means keep up 3 times a week, but don't rush to 10k, take it gradually, consolidate 5k runs first..
Continue to run on 3 occasions each week, since remaining consistent will lead to the ability to run further, while allowing you to gradually improve speed as fitness improves.
I run 3 times a week. Two short runs on weekdays and a longer one during the weekend. The short runs are combined with strength training, intervals and hills.
I do two runs one shorter one and one long. Then interval training running with club. You will find what suits you.
I try and still do 3 runs, 2 x shorter ones (up to 5k) and 1 longer one (up to 10k) but I've been lucky to manage 2 a week in the run up to Christmas.
I continued to run 3 x week. After a consolidation period of 30 min runs, I began extending distance. The rule is no more than 10% increase per week I've read. When I was running for 3 x 60 min, I looked at distance. After 3 x 10k, I added in more runs. You can really do what you want so long as you increase gradually, take more rest days if needed and monitor how your body feels during and after runs. You don't get injuries from being cautious but doing too much too fast can have you stuck on the injury couch for months. It is not all speed and distance though. There is something to be said for reaching a point where the running is smooth and easy. It all takes a bit of time and is dependent on factors like your age, strength and general health.
It depends, normally I run every other day, but if I've done a particularly long run then I have an extra day off, so 3 that week too. Occasionally I've been known to run up to 3 days on the trot, but that's rare. At least 3 a week though unless I'm ill/injured.
