I remember someone posting on here that one of the joys of running was being outside and experiencing the change in seasons and feeling more connected the environment. It's so true! I sometimes take a while to adjust to running in the cold and dark on winter or sweating on hot summer days but it's all part of the fun of running outdoors. Has anyone else found this?

I'm not sure which seasons I'm not sure which I like best yet. By April next year I will have been running for a year. I'll tell you then. I think the main thing is getting used to the change in climate.
I know the first time running near freezing the first time I sucked in cold air was a real shock ! A bit like that feeling you get when you expect to jump into a warm shower and find that the water is cold.
But it's amazing what you body gets used to. Your brain must have made a mental note and next time prepares you for it a bit better. Whatever the weather I like it when there is a long period of whatever it is so know how many layers to put on.
But whatever is thrown at us the best thing is the great sense of achievement and benefits.
Have a good Christmas.

Absolutely! I started c25k in winter, and I thought I would freeze to death on the warm up walks. I had been an absolute wuss back then ☺ I couldn't believe how quickly I acclimatised, and now I barely think about it unless it's particularly vile outside 😊 These days I am always turning the stat down.
It has to be outdoors for me. It's where it's at ☺ Even if it's just local streets. I love running on the trail though
