Was a lovely sunny cold crisp morning at Parkrun, and was looking at the hard frost on the fallen leaves as I run the trail through the woods, also watching out for tree roots partly hidden by them. My road shoe's seemed to just about be managing to grip in the muddy areas, sometimes I could move over onto some grass for more grip, but think it's about time to don my trail shoe's for next week..πππ
Good Parkrun but brass monkey's : Was a lovely... - Couch to 5K
Good Parkrun but brass monkey's
How did the park run go, I was meant to get to local one this morning so hoping next week..... I worry about been last, I'm such a tit I know , did you run the whole thing ??
You don't want to worry about anything doing Parkrun, The marshalls around the course give good motivation, the last person around my Parkrun this morning took 60mins 13 secs, you can run or walk if you have to its even for people who don't like running! they just want you to go and take part. I ran around the course, I've run many 5ks and also the odd 10k.. you will also, as you graduate and go on, just keep at it!π
Out of interest, how many different types of running shoes do you have davelinks ? I'm so pleased with my Garmin watch. Thank you so much for letting me know that you use one, it was very helpful to know and my watch has been really useful. π
Just a pair of road shoe's & a pair of trail shoes, depends on what you want to do and when. You can run on damp grass & trails with road shoe's, but now the trails are getting more muddy & slippy so trail shoes offer some more grip & less risk of injury..
That's great, thank you davelinks π It's a bit like winter tyres for the car.
Yes, like winter tyres lol, nobbly tyres on bikes... a bit cheaper than tyres though, my trail shoe's cost Β£20 nephew's just bought a pair for Β£30, no special gait analysis needed for them either..π
Yes.... I chickened out of going to Parkrun this morning when I saw the frost. Maybe next week.
They start SO early though Dave, no wonder its cold and the bed is soo warm.ππ. Well done you..maybe one day..
(Im not a first thing in the morning kind of runner..π)
Early mornings are so brilliant. If I was not on the IC,I could come and call for you !
I'd love to run with you floss! How's the ribs?π
It's not that early! I'm not a morning person much either, but I make big effort for Parkrun, and see some friends there who I know how they run and their usual times, some run about 20 mins, some 25 mins as does my nephew, and another at about 48 mins, he's 74! But has done about 280 Parkrun's and a lady of 66 who usually runs in about 44 mins she's done about 70 Parkrun's, she tells me she's not bothered about pb's just loves to get out and do it for fitness & enjoyment.. so you see, Parkrun gives the motivation!...π
Go Dave... a lovely frosty run! Well done
