....that the night before a rest day I manage to get myself into bed at a very reasonable 10pm giving myself a good eight hours blissful sleep yet the night before a run I seem to be glued to the sofa watching no end of crap which passes for entertainment of the crappest order plus if I am that desperate I could if I felt so inclined watch it on catchup any time of day or night? Note to sodding self - get a grip girlie so when the alarm brings you out of your far too short stupor you don't have to drag your sorry arse around the streets like you've just stumbled out of a party at 6am. Anyone else make it so much harder than it needs to be? Anyway week 8 done 🙂 Happy days and nights to you all x

Lol. Depending on how many days between runs the night before a rest day would be the night OF a run... I always sleep soundly on run days. Talking of which: need my beauty sleep - running in the morning! Sleep tight. Oh, and well done for reaching week 9. Happy days indeed.

Ha ha ha.....you are me! Complete and entire, down to the bit where you're telling yourself off and still don't shift off the sofa! I'm so glad I'm not alone..

Subconsciously, you are so eager to go out the front door for your run you do not want to waste time sleeping and walking all that distance to your bedroom. They symbolism of dragging your derriere around the street is indicative of the urge to give two fingers to those who slander us runners - you are basically wanting to 'moon' them to show your contempt. This is borne out by your mention of 'party at 6am' - ANYONE can party at midnight but it is a special breed (us runners) who can party at that hour! Feeling 'glued to the sofa' shows your fear that it will happen in reality - and 'alarm' 'crappest' and 'sorry' shows your feelings towards Gremlins.

You can now be at peace with yourself and that will be 60 Guineas please - just make the cheque payable to Dr. Popeye's Institute of Vindictive Peace Studies and Bicycle Repair Shop ;)
